Pickin' for the (Guinness World) Record!

The Voices team in conjunction with Soldiers' Angels established a new Guinness World Record in Luckenbach Texas for the most guitars assembled to play songs in support of our homecoming warriors. We brought together 1,867 "pickers" to break a previous record by a group in Germany, a record that drew international light on our mission, the State of Texas and our sponsor Gibson USA. The fact is that Poland has taken the Guinness World Record officially from us in April 2010, so Voices of a Grateful Nation and Soldiers' Angels are now making plans to attempt to break the new current Guinness World Record of 6000 assembled guitars performing a song together before the end of 2010! Please sign-up for our news letter and spread the word that we are going to do it again and hopefully bring 8000 guitars togetherin Austin, Texas location to be announce. This will be a great way to say thank you to all of our military men and women for their service to our country!

Voices for Vets

We've created a multi-media stage presentation, "Voices for Vets," that weaves songs from our CD Series with documentary video, voice over narrative and visual components to reflect the realities of 21st-century combat deployments and the effect they have on military men and women and their families. This unique offering is designed to travel to educational institutions and community venues around the country to raise both awareness and funding for our continued growth in the years to come. The Voices Band is led by Jamie Oldaker drummer for Eric Clapton, Bob Seger and Peter Frampton. Jamie has performed on over twenty-five Gold and Platinum records and has put together the Voices Band that backs up the touring performers from the recording series.

Voices for Vets - The Debut Performance - San Antonio, November 10, 2009

The Premiere Performance of "Voices for Vets," the Musical-Multi-Media Stage Production, played to a full house on Tuesday, November 10 on the eve of Veteran's Day at the historic Pear Brewery Stable in San Antonio. The show featured a short documentary film of the same title that highlighted the "TBI MUSIC PROGRAM," that teaches brain-injured vets how to play the guitar as a component of their recovery as well as other subjects relevant to the ongoing troop-support efforts of Voices of a Grateful Nation and Soldiers' Angels. In addition to the Voices Band led by multi-platinum and gold album artist and long-time Eric Clapton drummer, Jamie Oldaker, the show featured the unique vocal talents of Walt Wilkins, Alex Ruiz of Del Castillo, Mike Cross, Sally Allen and Dustin Welch. Also performing was San Antonio's renowned Gospel Choir, "Witness," who lead an extensive voice ensemble of local school children singing "We Will Have Peace Someday."

The producers send their thanks to the following generous sponsors: KBR, Re/Max of Texas; Gibson Guitars USA; Pictoric Media; and Rudy’s Country Store and Bar-B-Que.

Voices for Vets Presented in Killeen

In Killeen, Texas on February 28, 2010, The Boys & Girls Club of Central Texas, the Killeen Independent School District, and two notable troop-support nonprofits, Soldiers' Angels and Voices of a Grateful Nation, teamed up for a special production of the Musical-Multi-Media Stage Show, "Voices for Vets." This unique presentation featured music from the Voices of a Grateful Nation CD Series, a special collection of songs written in support of our troops. The show captured the audience with special performances by students performing a song written by them in our Voices song writing workshop and jumped into the chorus on multiple songs. The whole production was captured on High definition cameras and the audio/video is being edited for a documentary film of the same name that chronicles the extensive work done on behalf of our troops and their families by Soldiers' Angels and the Voices Team. The show was presented Sunday afternoon, February 28, 4:00 pm at the Killeen High School Auditorium. we are touring the Voices for Vets program to Houston next, dates yet to be announced!
